Alastair V. Graham FCIB

Alastair recently joined BRT from GARP where he was a member of the Management Board and Managing Director based in London.

 

Alastair joined GARP in 2008 after nine years as Senior Vice President and Head of Global Training at Moody’s Investors Service.

 

Alastair’s career began in 1971 with Lloyds Bank. Later, he joined United Dominions Trust as a Corporate Credit Executive and subsequently became the Head of Corporate Lending at Girobank where he oversaw the development of a substantial asset book and creation of regional credit risk departments. He was a member of the Bank’s Credit Committee for lending, treasury and capital markets.

 

Later in his career Alastair moved into the area of training, education and consultancy with DC Gardner PLC, a leading global financial training firm. He was a Director of Corporate Banking and Managing Director of the training centres. In 1991 Alastair moved to the BPP Group PLC, the largest publically quoted training group in Europe, to establish a new subsidiary for financial training. This successfully developed into a leading training business offering both in-house and public courses from its offices in London, Amsterdam and Frankfurt, before Alastair moved to Moody’s Investors Service.

 

Currently Alastair works with banks and financial institutions, around the world, designing and developing training solutions, and certification programmes.

 

He has contributed to publications on credit analysis including two series of leading distance learning workbooks used by banks in many parts of the world and now translated into a number of languages. In addition to his training engagements he speaks regularly on conferences covering topics including, credit risk and credit risk management.

 

Alastair is a Fellow of the Chartered Banker Institute, a member of the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation and Banking Standards Board.
